Mindfulness Community Meetup       w/Elmo Shade 

Mindfulness is “the simple act of actively noticing things.” Develop a conscious practice to greet life and its daily challenges with purposeful intention while establishing a daily commitment of self-care and compassion. We will “Sit, Move, &Talk”: 20 min each of gentle movement, guided meditation, and mindfulness teaching and conversation. Our Mindfulness Meetup is open to all who wish to cultivate a daily practice of mindfulness, compassion, and wellbeing. No formal mindfulness, meditation or movement training is required.

Tai Chi & Qigong    w/Elmo Shade

This class combines movement, breathing, and visualization to cultivate the body’s energy. This gentle exercise, sometimes referred to as ‘meditation with movement’, initiates the relaxation response, decreasing heart rate and blood pressure while enhancing the efficiency of the body’s immune system. “Qi” is translated as energy and “Gong” (pronounced ‘Gung’) translates as skill, so literally “skilled energy.”

Mindfulness Based Coaching

Offers just-in-time one on one coaching, mindfulness education and application in recognizing, managing and overcoming compulsive mental and emotional states and rut energies that deplete us from living happily and successfully. MBC interventions are grounded in the practices and application of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and combine the long-term development (self-generational) of the client (Coaching) with enhancing mental, emotional, physical & spiritual well-being (Mindfulness). Sessions can be customized for Executives and Business with a focus on leadership, or Mentoring for those clients ready to move to a more expert level.

Eight (8) session minimum, based on 37 years of MBSR interventions and evidence based research on how to optimize results. The first 3 sessions need to be in consecutive weeks, and then the schedule will be customized to the client’s needs after that. Sessions are 1 hr.

$1000 for 8 sessions

$500 for 4 sessions

Once the initial 8 session commitment has been met, single sessions are also available for $135.

 

Mindfulness Coaching for Teens

MC4T is specially designed to provide teens with a foundation in secular mindfulness practices, e.g. learning to focus attention on the breath and the body to ground oneself and to respond with present-moment awareness to challenging situations that teens face every day. It is grounded in the evidence-based science of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, e.g. Meditation – Movement – Self Compassion – Kindness. Benefits include: Reduced anxiety and stress levels; increased energy & stamina; increased memory and concentration; reduced test anxiety.

Age Range: 14-17, Self- Selective (Parental Consent but NOT Parental Requirement)

8 Session Minimum + 30-40 Minutes/Day Home Practice, based on 37 years of MBSR interventions and evidence based research on how to optimize results. The first 3 sessions ideally need to be in consecutive weeks, and then the schedule can be customized after that. Sessions are 1 hr.

Individual and Relationship Psychotherapy

Janice Glasscock, LCSW utilizes cognitive-behavioral concepts and mindfulness principles to assist others in becoming more aware, and to better manage their thoughts and emotions, to identify and practice/create changes they want to make, and to discern desires and potential outcomes in making critical life decisions. Sessions especially support those recovering from loss and addiction, from relationship/marriage adversity, and from anxiety and depression.  They can also help people navigate life transitions, including work-life balance, marriage/divorce/remarriage, and health and aging. Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

This periodic series of classes uses meditation and movement to cultivate awareness and reduce stress. It is based on the ancient practice of mindfulness, which is about waking up, being fully alive, and being present in the richness of each moment, each day of our lives. The core practices emphasized in this program are: Meditation-Movement-Exercise-Sleep-Mindful Eating & Cultivating Self-Compassion.
