Yoga came to Nancy Kirkland in the early 70’s when she was a young teenager. She has vivid memories of practicing yoga on the family room floor along with Lilias Folan’s syndicated TV show. Lilies was a great role model – a woman with a dedicated practice aimed at exploring herself and a special ability to share herself with so many strangers. Later, it was Richard Hittleman’s books that guided Nancy’s practice. It was in the late 1980’s that she began taking yoga classes and over the years she has had the guidance of many skilled instructors, her primary teacher for the past 15 years being Ramanand Patel. She considers herself very fortunate to have learned how gradually, yet powerfully, a yoga practice can influence one’s life and she enjoys helping others discover this for themselves.
